A Big Thank You to Everyone!!
Posted On : 2013-04-16

I want to give a big thank you to everyone who came out last Saturday for our grand re-opening. It was a great day and we had lots of fun.

Fishing offshore this past weekend was pretty good. Saturday, most boats had a couple wahoo and a few blackfins each.  Sunday, was a little better. About half the morehead city fleet got out and most of them had 2-3 wahoo, some blackfins, and there was even some yellowfins caught. It seems like the wahoo and blackfin bite was spread from north to south.  The yellowfin bite that I heard of took place just north of the big rock.

Inshore fishing for sea mullets and gray trout around the port in the no wake zone was very good this past weekend.  Everybody fishing was doing well with spec rigs and shrimp.  Speckled trout and drum are still being caught just not in any numbers. I spoke with Dr. Bogus yesterday and he said he recorded the water temp on the beach at 58 degrees. This time last year it was in the mid 60's.  We have got to get the water temp up a good bit before we start to see the inshore bite pick up.
