Bait & Tackle Reports

Good Dolphin Fishing!
Posted On : 2019-05-20

Offshore fishing has really been heating up.  All boats have been reporting good catches of Mahi while fishing in the gulfstream. I have yet to hear of a bite moving in closer but will keep you posted.

Inshore fishing has consisted of cobia, bluefish, and spanish.  Cobia fishing has been split between bottom fishing around the cape and site fishing from the shoals to Bogue Inlet.  The Spanish and Bluefish have been biting well on the troll using Clarkspoon's but also plentiful enough to cast to as well.  We are seeing good sizes to the Bluefish and Spanish with several being in the 4-5lb range.

This Dolphin pictured came in just under 23lb and fell for a ballyhoo under a squidnatin chugger.  It was cought by Noah and Andy Gilliam while fishing with Four Seasons Guide Service.
