Great Fall Fishing!
Posted On : 2015-11-02

Fall fishing has really taken off this past week. Offshore fishing for Wahoo continues to do well with most of the action comeing from down south around the "Rise" a"nd "Swansboro Hole.  Along with the wahoo, boats are catching blackfins and some sailfish.  King Mackerals bit very well yesterday on live bait.  Most of the bites I heard about came from Northwest places.  Many of the kings were in the 20-30lb class range.

Inshore fishing for Albacore is startig to pick back up after a 4-5 day lull.  Saturday and Sunday most people were able to find them although they had to go to a little bit deeper water than normal.  I heard several people finding them around AR 330 and around the Hutton.  A few Spanish are still being caught but they are starting to slow down and move out due to the water getting colder.  Bluefish are still plentiful just about everywhere.

Inshore and backwater fishing for Trout and Drum is very good right now and should coninue to be good for another 1-2 months.  People are still having decent catches of Trout along the beach using mirrolures and soft plastics and catching the occaisoinal drum and flounder as well.  Both the Trout and Drum bite around the Haystacks, radio island rock jetty, shackleford rock jetty and middle marsh continues to keep picking up and although most of them are smaller fish, we should start seeing them increase in size.
