Bait & Tackle Reports

Not much change
Posted On : 2013-08-06

Inshore fishing continues to be doing well.  Getting good reports of flounder though most of them continue to be just legal or just under.  Spanish Mackerel fishing is hot right now.  You just have to go a few miles off the beach to get in them real good.  The bluefish bite has seemed to come to a holt.  Their are plenty of little sharks being caught along the beaches and many people are enjoying casting to the larger ones behind the shrimp trollers dragging just off the beach. I'm not getting many trout and drum reports but that is pretty typical of this time of year with all the rain and heat they usual become a little thinned out.

Nothing really new to report for offshore fishing.  Their are plenty of bailers to be caught when you can find a school of them with a few bigger gaffers being caught on the troll.  The wahoo bite is picking up and moving in some.  I'm getting some reports of them being caught around the 90ft drop and out a little bit and I'm also getting some reports of a few being caught on the east side between the Atlas and the Far East Tanker.  If your looking for a few king mackerel to catch, I would head over to the east side around the 1700 rock, D wreck, Summerlin ect.... All these places are holding some king mackerel right now as well as some smaller ones being caught at the NW Places.
