Bait & Tackle Reports

Warm December Weather
Posted On : 2015-12-15

A December that has felt more like the month of May hasn’t been such a bad thing for fishing.  Lots of people are reporting catching large Sea Mullets in Beaufort Inlet as well as the Dead tree hole along Shackleford banks.  Blood worms and shrimp have been working the best for the Sea Mullets and in those same spots you should be able to take a Stingsilver and jig up some nice Grey Trout.  There is still lots of Speckled Trout around but like we have seen most of this season, the Trout have been small.

The offshore bite was FANTASTIC this past weekend.  Several boats that fished had large catches of Wahoo as well as Blackfin tuna and sailfish.  The charter boat "Pelagic", on top of their great day of fishing, even managed to land a 96lb Wahoo.

The Bluefin bite has slowed down some the past couple of days, mainly due to a hard southerly wind and warm temperatures.  As soon as the wind lays down and the cold front pushes through, we should start to see more fish being caught again this weekend.
